Homeowners now ask ChatGPT for a roofer. It names only a few.
A homeowner can type "who's a good roofer in Fort Wayne?" into ChatGPT and get back a short list of names. Everyone else is left out.

How a homeowner asks AI for a roofer
- 1Search
They ask in plain words
Longer and more specific than a Google search.
- 2Narrow
The AI reads the web and names a few
Websites, listings, reviews, and maps go in. A short list comes out.
- 3Choose
They check the names, then call
They look up each name on Google or on the business's website first.
Why it matters
What helps AI read your website
- What you do and where, in words on the page, not inside a picture
- One page for each main service, so "metal roof repair" has a page that answers it
- Real reviews. The businesses ChatGPT named in one study averaged 4.3 stars
- The same name, address, and phone on your site, Google, Bing, Apple Maps, and Yelp
- Your details in schema, a standard code format search engines read
- Fast pages that show their words without waiting on heavy scripts
Special AI files matter less than people say
Google says its AI answers come from the same ranking systems as regular Search, and you don't need special AI files to show up. [4] We still add a free summary file some AI tools read (llms.txt), but nobody has shown it changes who gets named.
What CornerWick does about it
- Builds your site so AI tools can read it: clear services and towns, schema, and fast pages
- Keeps your name, address, and phone the same on Google, Bing, Apple Maps, Yelp, and more
- Each month, asks ChatGPT and other AI tools for the best roofer in your town, and tells you if you were named
The website plan covers the AI-ready basics. Listings and the monthly AI check are part of the Maps and reviews plan. See the plans and prices
