Why it matters
Google says complete info helps you show up
Google's own advice: businesses with complete and accurate info are more likely to show up in local results, and wrong info can keep you out of searches near you. [2]
In one survey of 47 local search experts, being open when someone searches ranked #5 of all map box factors. Your hours count. [3]
- Category: the closest match for what you do
- Services: each one you offer, in plain words
- Hours, plus holiday hours set ahead
- Service area: the towns you drive to
- Real photos of your jobs, crew, and truck
- A plain description: who you are, what you do, and where
Anyone can suggest a change to your profile
Customers and strangers can suggest edits, like new hours or a new phone number. Once Google tells you, you have 4 days to accept or reject. If nobody answers, Google may publish the change when other public info backs it up. [4]
