What local marketing costs a trade business
What trade owners pay to get found runs from about $75 to more than $4,000 a month, depending on how much of the work they hand off. A review app is cheapest and leaves the work to you. A full agency does it all and often asks for a year. Done-for-you Maps and website services sit in the middle, around $200 to $400 a month.

The usual options, side by side
| Option | Typical cost | What you still do |
|---|---|---|
| CornerWick | $74 to $299 a month | Read one page a month. Text your review link after a job. |
| Marketing agency for trades | $2,800+ a month | Often a yearly contract. |
| Google Maps-only service | $199 to $299 a month | Your website is separate. |
| Review app | $75 to $125 a month | You send the requests from the app. |
| Lead sites (Angi, Thumbtack) | A fee per lead | Race 3 or 4 other pros to call back first. |
| One-time website | $500 to $2,000 once | Update it yourself, or nobody does. |
Agency, Maps-only, and review-app prices are what those companies' own pages said on 2026-10-19 (examples, not every company). Lead sites: Angi's pro site says requests go to 3 or 4 pros, and Thumbtack's help pages say pros pay per lead.
The costs that don't show up front
In our look at 37 companies, 17 didn't show a price at all, and 8 showed only a "from" price. The extra costs we saw most:
- Ad budget billed on top of the management fee, sometimes without saying how much.
- A setup fee with no amount listed.
- Add-ons priced separately: one company lists Google Maps work at $600 a month and AI search at $800 a month, each.
- Contracts of 6 to 12 months, stated on only a few pricing pages.
- A fee per lead on lead sites, whether or not you get the job.
Questions to ask anyone you hire
- What's the monthly price, all in?
- Is there a setup fee?
- How long is the contract, and what happens when I cancel?
- Do I own my website, Google profile, and ad account?
- What do I have to do each week?
- Is the ad budget included, or extra?
Our answers: $74 or $299 a month, no setup fee, cancel after month 1 and keep the site, you own all of it, you read one page a month, and the ad budget is extra and goes to Google. Full pricing.
What Google Ads cost on their own
In one 2026 benchmark of home and home improvement ads, the average click cost $8.33 and the average lead cost $90.92. That money goes to Google, on top of whatever you pay someone to run the ads. Source: WordStream by LocaliQ, Google Ads benchmarks 2026 (vendor data).
Lead sites vs calls you own
On a lead site, one homeowner's request is shared, and each pro pays for it. A call from your own Google profile or website goes to you alone, with no fee per call. How the two compare.
